Check these three first

Most reports turn out to be one of the app's known trade-offs rather than a fault, so it is worth ruling them out before writing:

  • A cropped pane doesn't respond to clicks. That is intended. While a crop is applied the pane is read-only and clicks pass through it. Turn the crop off to interact with the page, then turn it back on.
  • Memory use grows as you add panes. Also intended. Each pane holds its own live web view, which is what keeps pages from reloading when you rearrange the board.
  • Extensions, bookmark sync and tab management are missing. SplitWeb is not a browser replacement and does not have them.

The FAQ covers the rest of the common questions — cropping, logins, proxies, pricing and refunds.

What to include in a bug report

If it is a genuine fault, these five things usually make the difference between a fix and a long back-and-forth:

  • Your macOS version, and your SplitWeb version (SplitWeb ▸ About SplitWeb).
  • What you did, step by step, and what you expected instead.
  • The site involved, if it only happens on one — some pages behave unusually.
  • Whether the affected pane was cropped at the time.
  • Whether that pane was set to use a proxy.

A screenshot helps. If the layout itself is the problem, say how many panes there were and roughly how they were arranged.

Refunds

SplitWeb is sold only through the Mac App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple rather than by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com and normal App Store refund rules apply.

If you are still deciding, the honest summary is on the home page and in the comparison with the free alternatives. SplitWeb is free to download and runs unlocked for 14 days, so trying it before paying is the surest way to avoid needing a refund at all.

Requirements

macOS 14 or later. SplitWeb is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store, which will tell you before purchase whether your Mac is supported.

Privacy

Pages you open load directly from the sites themselves, the same as in a browser. The privacy policy has the full detail.
